Autism Spectrum and other Disorders
My personal story
I had never herd of Autism until my son Alex, was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. After finding that conventional vitamin therapy provided short term relief at best, I rethought my approach, trained with a variety of professionals and followed my heart. I found a philosophy, not a method, which has given me consistant, long-term results. With this philosophy, I was able to uncover issues and deeper levels of dysfunction in the physiology.
My Approach
I am alert to causes of symptoms that others may have overlooked, and keep n open mind and work with you and your child, oftentimes alleviating the symptoms. Observation is the most accurite skill I employ. Noticing how your child reacts at certain times and pinpointing the events surrounding thise reactions can provide a wealth of imformation that may otherwise be discarded. Through in-depth assessment, I can examine each part of the childs routine.
Beyond observation, I work with healing techniques practiced in the far East. I assess the energy, or chi, flowing through a client and pay particular attention to the protective electrical field, or aura, surrounding the body.
With autism based symptoms I do a brain rebalancing energy based practice. The effect can strengthen and partially stabilize a stressed out aura. This has the effect of reducing the static backround noise as well as the sensitivities that your child may be having. This saves time and number of visits as your child frees up behavior, learning awarness and even relaxed speech starts coming together. Follow up visit may be needed to trace hardwired symptoms to its real root cause. Once the root cause has been removed then a fine tuning can be done. The senses are the focus since they can still be in a heightened state, at a heightened state, touch, sight, and sound can get in the way of normal daily function. I also work in the areas of focus, memory, learning, accuracy, concentration and reasoning aspects.
Real Results
Alex's symptoms started at 18 months. We noticed that he couldn't look us in the eye. My backround in Oriental therapies alerted me to the idea that Alex's aura was breaking down upon eye contact. I later read in Temple Grandin's book Thinking in Pictures that when she looked in someone's eyes she would see the eyeballs shifting. She found this uncomfortable, almost painful. I tested Alex using a method called muscle testing. He was unable to look into even his little brother's eyes without discomfort. I traced oversensitivity to the spleen. Altering Alex's diet to spleen supporting nutrients corrected the problem in two days, and still till this day. As I'm sure you know, the symptoms are both physical and behavioral. What is sometimes overlooked is how the physical and behavioral are intertwined. In Alex's case, I suspected the cause of his physical digestive issues to be excessive nickel in his diet. By changing cookware his digestive issues dissapeared, so too did one of his behavioral symptoms, a preoccupation with germs. Sometimes symptoms results from emotional trauma. The parents of a four year old Massachusetts girl told me her symptoms started at the age of 18 months, shortly after her MMR shots. Further questioning revealed that the girl would not eat with a forks and had an aversion to pencils. Assuming the symptoms were related to the needle trauma, I tested her reaction to blunt pencils, sharpened pencils, the sharp end of the fork, and the handle. She accepted the blunt ends, but the sharp objects weakened her aura during a muscle test. Through an emotional release technique, I was able to leach the trauma out of her auric field. The symptom is now gone and a subsequent muscle test revealed no weakness in the presence of sharp objects.
Autism is commonly defined as absorption in self-centered, subjective, mental activity such as daydreaming, delusions, and hallucinations, especially when accompanied with a marked withdrawal from reality.
Scientific research provides many insights into the causes of autism, however, those involved with autistic children know that science offers little in the way of remedies. You're not alone if you've found support groups, medical literature and the internet to be full of fragmented ideas which work for some but not others.
Through an introduction to my philosophies, I hope to help you and your child discover and eliminate factors in your home and surroundings that I believe could spur symptoms of autism or many of the other disorders I believe have similar roots. These disorders include pervasive development disorder (PDD), and PDD-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), ADHD, mental retardation, schizophrenia, Tourette's, and OCD.
Having helped my own son overcome what had been diagnosed as Asperger's Syndrome, I come to the challenge of your child's difficulties with a caring and understanding perspective. I look beyond the labels applied to the issue and note the symptoms. Once the symptoms are examined, we can begin working to eliminate their causes.
Treatments such as medications, mega-doses of vitamins, cognitive therapy, restricted diets, and secretin therapy may be helpful, but rarely have lasting value. They treat symptoms but rarely treat the root cause of the issue. I feel that medication should be limited to a crisis. Crises are what doctors handle best. Once a doctor has stabilized a crises, a qualified alternative health practitioner should be considered.
